As you know, we love sharing stories about amazing people doing great things in our community. So, today, we wanted to introduce you to Lenka – owner of Lenka’s Place.
Lenka has a beautiful story about her journey to Vail Valley and creating a unique business that gives valuable life enrichment to members of the community (and those who visit)!
Starting at a young age, Lenka showed that she was full of endless creativity and talent when it came to painting. At the age of 14, she was selected to attend a four-year art school program that specialized in graphic design and other art skills.
After completing the program, she successfully completed the entrance exams for teaching art and was chosen to attend a university where she concentrated on teaching art to high school and college students.
While in attendance, she partnered with an Art Gallery in Pilsen, Czech Republic to develop a specific educational program that focused on the interactive interpretation of art pieces, the channeling of emotions through art, learning to relate to artists’ work and creating your own masterpiece using inspiration from the artist/exhibit.
She also received her Master’s Degree in Art and taught at a graphics school full-time before deciding to carry her passion for teaching to the United States.
Today, she teaches at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards and operates her business, which includes:
- Private art lessons
- Interactive projects for kids birthday parties
- Canvas and cocktails in hotel settings
- 3-6 week classes focusing on a specific topic of art
- Art classes for talented kids
- Step-by-step painting classes in her studio in Eagle, the comfort of your home, for business parties, bridal showers, baby showers and birthday parties
- Kids art camp
- Art classes for talented kids
- Intermediate level class for ages 6-14 who are looking to advance their established drawing skills
Lenka’s love for teaching others and passion for the arts is evident in everything she does! And, she does an amazing job not only at broadening her student’s perspectives about art, but also about life in general.
If you’ve been thinking about taking an art class (or signing your child up for one), we would highly recommend getting in touch with Lenka.
Her experience, expertise and teaching style are to the likes of something you’d find in a large Metropolitan city like New York, so we are beyond grateful that she’s right here in our community!
