Project Spotlight: Vail Resorts – Corral Signage

With ski season in full swing and a whole heck of a lot more snow than we had this time last year, we’re excited to share with you one of our recent projects at Vail Resort!

You might remember in 2016, we completed a ski signage project at Vail Resorts to provide patrons, particularly out-of-town guests, with clearer signage on how to access Chairs 3 and 4 amidst the Mid Vail confluence.

Well, this year’s project was just as exciting and a big contribution to the mountain! In October, our team installed two new corral signs for Chair 3 & 4 for Vail Resorts on the other side of the lift, i.e. THE Legendary Back Bowl Signage!

These new signs are helping direct skiers and snowboarders to the chairlifts with even more ease, making this awesome area of the hill even more easy to navigate.

Here’s what our company owner Todd Morrison had to say about the project…

We absolutely love working with Vail Resorts, Incorporated. They are such a valued client, so anytime that have a new project for us, we’re beyond thrilled to jump in and help in any way we possibly can!

It’s also great to know we’re giving back to the ski and snowboard community and creating a wonderful experience for everyone at Vail Resorts.”

In addition to this project and the one in 2016, the PCW team has had the opportunity to contribute to projects that date back to 2011!

Company Spotlight: Season to Taste

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Ally Stephens – owner and head chef of Season to Taste! This amazing woman not only has an amazing entrepreneurial spirit, but is also one of the best chefs in Vail Valley.

It’s no surprise that Ally has built a successful business and created beyond thrilled clients given her discerning palate and passion for food span back to a very young age.

Ally not only grew up learning about food origins and ingredients, but she also spent hours in the kitchen with her mom, who owned a catering business. Even then, Ally recognized that meals weren’t just about fueling the body or tasting good, but that they had a lot to do with the gathering of loved ones and creating special memories.

Today, Ally runs Season to Taste – a culinary business focused around personal chef services, cooking classes, interactive dinners (yes, you get to help her make the meal in your very own kitchen) and meal prep offerings.

While most of the personal chef services are centered around in-home dining, she also provides services for bridal showers, bachelorette parties and other special, intimate gatherings.

And if providing great food to the community wasn’t enough, Ally launched a new portion of Season to Taste this past summer – offering cooking classes to kids between the ages of 5-14. “It was so exciting to work with these kids! Seeing them get excited about not only food, but healthy food and cooking technique, was so much fun,” shared Ally.

Given the summer program’s success, she said it’ something she’ll probably offer Summer 2019, so if you’re interested, make sure to get in touch with her sometime in the new year.

When we asked Ally to share one of the things she loves most about doing what she does, she shared with us that she receives immense joy seeing her clients enjoy her food while laughing, celebrating and creating lifelong memories.

Another aspect of Ally’s business we really appreciate is that she focuses on healthy and seasonal ingredients and preparations.

“I love created dishes around the seasons and locally grown and raised ingredients. Seasonal food not only tastes better, but it’s great knowing that I’m supporting other local businesses by buying directly from them,” said Ally.

We can definitely attest to the fact that Ally creates amazing food. PCW’s marketing manager Samantha Tino has experienced her creations first hand. Here’s what she had to say…

“We use her service when our schedules are simply overloaded or I am out of town on business, and I want to ensure that my family eats healthy while I am away. I love her food choices and her preparation! She is amazingly talented. I feel lucky to have her help our family!”

Help Us Help Gaby Reach Her Goal

You might remember last year, we wrote a community spotlight about a talented, brave and very inspiring young woman by the name of Gaby Fuentes.

Gaby is an honor student at Eagle Valley High School, a dedicated athlete (basketball, track and cross-country), participates in SOS Outreach (a youth development non-profit) and is actively involved in Children Global Alliance.

Yes, she’s only in high-school and is already doing so many amazing things for her school, community and world!

Last year, with your help, Gaby was able to reach her fundraising goal for a service trip to Morocco with Children’s Global Alliance, a nonprofit organization. While on the trip, Gaby helped teach students in Abde Salan Middle School English. The school was home to 520 students and had a high dropout rate, so her work on this trip was beyond helpful to these children.

In addition to Morocco, Gaby has also traveled to Tanzania and Cambodia for some amazing volunteer work, and now, she’s preparing for her next adventure… Nepal!

And, now she needs our help! As part of the program, Gaby is responsible for fundraising. She is required to raise $2,600. She is asking any business or families in our community who are willing to donate to please help!

Project Spotlight: Edwards Family Home Renovation in Vail, CO

Today, we’re excited to share with you one of the many projects we’ve been passionately working on over the past few months: a Residential Home Renovation Project located on Bald Mountain Road in Vail, CO.

We’ve had the pleasure to serve as the General Contractor on this project for the wonderful Edwards family, who are originally from Michigan and chose our beautiful town to retire in.

Our amazing team is working on adding a two-car garage, expanding the main level and creating a new master suite. In March 2019, upon completion of the project, this gorgeous home will have an additional 1500 square feet.

“We’re so grateful to have the opportunity to help clients like the Edwards family make their home an even more enjoyable place to live. They are such great people, and we feel blessed that they chose our team to complete this project,” shared Todd, owner of PCW.

The PCW team is also loving this project because it involves building with Thermasteel. “Thermasteel is a unique structural alternative material, as it decreases the project build time and assists in reducing the building and operational maintenance costs. It also provides an extremely strong and sturdy structure that is eco-friendly. So, having the chance to use it on this home is making it a lot of fun,” said Todd.

It’s crazy to think that we’re entering the last few weeks of Summer. So, with this great season coming to a close, we think everyone should close it out on a high note! And we have just the event.

Two-days full of live music, local craft beer and full bar, food vendors, backyard games and Mountain Rats trail running races – 5k, trail marathon, heavy half marathon and 50k race.
