“True beauty that exists in the midst of ugly and hard.” If there is any quote to summarize Nate Picklo’s battle against cancer, this is it.
You may remember that we recently shared the story of local coffee shop Yeti’s Grind and its owners Nate and Tara.
As we write this post, it’s with great sadness in our hearts to share that Nate passed on November 22. Nate battled cancer hard and fearlessly. He was positive, he was optimistic and he never lost his sense of humor for over two years of fighting this nasty disease.
Throughout Nate’s battle, Todd has continuously referred to Tara as a beast for her strength and courage. In turn, we wanted to show Tara support and love during this challenging time. Words seem insignificant, but we wanted to express love and healing energy.
We also wanted to ask you to extend the same support, whether that be through positive thoughts or prayers to Tara and the people who had the opportunity to know Nate.
Today and for many days to come, we are sending our thoughts, prayers and condolences to Nate’s wife Tara, his friends, his family and anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful man. While his life was cut way too short, we are grateful for having the opportunity to meet and know this wonderful man.
With the holiday season upon us, remember to love those close to you, hold them a little tighter. Life is often too short, so we have to remember that each moment is precious.
Thank you Nate for bestowing on our community such grace, positivity and will power. We will never forget you.
