We are so happy to share this news with you because it’s an amazing addition to the Avon community and local residents!
WHAT.
Our team teamed up with seven other construction companies to take on the challenge of building custom playhouses that will be setup in Nottingham Park.
WHY
Kids and parents can check out the various playhouses during a five-week exhibit, and the public will have the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite playhouse.
The Westin is donating a $500 gift certificate to the winning team. The public will be able to vote online to pick the winner (we’ll keep you posted on that). There will also be a prize for voting public- a birthday party for 10 at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park valued at $540! Talk about a great reason to vote!
We love that when the exhibit ends, the structures will be sold and all of the money will go to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
WHEN
The Playhouse Project will be open and on display to the public on June 14 at 6pm and will remain open for a five-week period. From 6-7:30 pm, there will be a ribbon cutting, food and drink to attendees (everyone is welcome). There will also be a time to ‘meet the builders.’ We hope you’ll stop by to see our house and say hi.
MORE ABOUT THIS GREAT PROJECT
Here’s what Avon Mayor Jennie Fancher had to say about the project in an article posted on Vail Daily:
“We are so excited that the Playhouse Project will take place in Avon this summer. This unique public art concept, that willbe showcased in Harry A. Nottingham Park, will surely be enjoyed by residents and visitors who take the time to tour the exhibit. We appreciate the work of the local construction companies and architects that are assisting in making this project come to life.”
We hope that you and your family will find some time in June or July to stop by Avon and check out our work, along with the work of the other awesome companies participating.
In the meantime, you can follow this wonderful project and event at #PlayhouseprojectsCo.
Cheers to fun this Summer in Avon and supporting a wonderful, local cause!
