UPDATE:
Tyler is home now and is recovering well, but he has months of recuperation time so please help us with sending a card!
As you may already know, our team has been working hard to build a beautiful custom home for Tyler Stonum with the Eagle Police force & Johnny Pfeiffer – President of Slifer Smith & Frampton. These two men are wonderful human beings, so today we wanted to ask you for your support.
On Monday, July 23, Tyler was diagnosed with stage three kidney cancer and has a 13-centimeter malignant tumor on his right kidney. Surgery was performed to remove the tumor and his kidney on August 8 at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs Colorado.
We are hopeful that this will be a successful surgery, as he has one of the best surgeons in Colorado and is in exceptional hands. The good news is that it doesn’t appear that the cancer has spread beyond the kidney!
But, the surgery is a lengthy one and unfortunately cannot be done laparoscopically given the size of the tumor, so he will be in the hospital for several days. Recovery will be several weeks and given he is a police officer, he will not be able to report back to duty for a while.
As part of our goal, to create community and care for our own, we invite you to attend the Our Community Table this month. Details can be found here: https://eagleoutside.com/events/our-community-table/.
If you’re already planning to attend, please ask the guests at your table(s) to each make or buy a card for Officer Stonum so he may read them as he recovers.
Our goal is to get hundreds of cards put in a basket at our event to deliver to him.
The basket will be at the Information Table which will be highly visible with a sign overhead and red balloons. We want to have a great showing for Officer Stonum, a highly respected and incredible individual! You may also drop off cards prior to the event at the Eagle Police Department located in Town Hall on Broadway or at the PCW office located a t1120 Chambers Ave #3C, Eagle, CO 81631.

In the meantime, please send healing and positive thoughts to Officer Stonum!
